Growing up in rural Vermont, Crystal was unaccustomed to firearms. That changed when she started working for Colorado Parks and Wildlife (2015-2020) and created “My First Big Game Hunt,” a YouTube series for the state agency chronicling her year-and-a-half-long journey into the world of hunting. Overcoming her fear, Crystal now embraces hunting and is dedicated to sharing her story and knowledge with others. She logged four years of service on the board of a national hook-and-bullet conservation nonprofit that introduces hunting to people of color, and is a certified hunter education instructor and range safety officer.
